Science journalist
Dirk Hanson was among the first reporters assigned to cover Silicon Valley in
the 70s and 80s.While working
for Electronic News he developed
relationships with the major players who created the hardware and software used
to build the Internet.
Hanson wrote two
highly praised books on the digital revolution -- The New Alchemists: Silicon Valley and the Microelectronics Revolution
(Little, Brown), and a
techno-thriller, The Incursion that
revealed the potential vulnerability of the evolving Internet.Both books were highly praised by the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Fortune,
New Yorker and other publications.

Dirk graduated from
Iowa State University with a B.S. degree in Journalism and received his M.A.
degree in Humanities from California State University.
